Music Lessons
We are excited to have the students returning for the fall term. They certainly have endured a long and challenging period over the last two years. Lets hope this is all behind us!
Semesters 1 & 2
Our fall and winter terms each consist of an 18 lesson package running Sept thru January, then January thru June.
Instruments: Piano, Guitar, Bass, Clarinet, Ukulele, Flute, Trumpet, Drums, Band class.
Days: Monday thru Friday (dependent on teachers' availability and enrollment capacity)
Fees: $27.50 (30min/lesson), $41.25(45min/lesson), $55(60min/lesson) Lessons are weekly, on site, private lessons. Alternatively, students may also register for online classes.
To register for our Fall / Winter term, send your inquiry to: qnma22@gmail.com Make sure to indicate the following: Student name, parents name, contact information (phone and email), address, instrument preference, lesson duration and students weekly availability for the lesson. Your instructor will contact you shortly thereafter to confirm availability, answer any questions you may have, and provide instructions for payment.
Note: When possible, please indicate the students alternative availability throughout the week. Doing so will increase the chances of registration with your preferred instructor. Once scheduled, all lessons are weekly at the same time/day

Born with a passion for music, Iia Tsaranenko pursued her dreams of becoming a piano teacher by attending the College of Musical Art in Mykolaiv, Ukraine. During her time at school, she gained valuable experience as a piano teacher, evaluating and grading student performances while preparing them for showcase performances. After graduating, Iia continued to hone her teaching skills by working as a piano and clarinet teaching assistant at the College of Musical Art, always ensuring that her students received the highest quality education. As a piano teacher at QuarterNote Music Arts,she continues to inspire and motivate her students by sharing her passion for music. A trained professional, with strong experience in traditional and modern approaches, Iia creates stimulating lessons for all levels of students. She is passionate that each student is challenged and engaged in their learning journey. Through dedication and hard work, Iia has become a respected and sought-after piano teacher, inspiring her students to reach their full potential both in music and life. | ||

Abe Bergsma is a local musician that has been performing within southern Ontario for the last two decades. A graduate of Mohawk College Applied Arts program and private music teacher since 2010. A recipient of "The Standard Reader's Choice" award for music instruction for 2019, 2020 and 2021. | ||

Manon Marie Kawula brings her great love of music and 31 years of teaching experience to the student. She has demonstrated and instructed the principles of piano technique, theory and performance to students of varying age and skill level. She attended the Brock University Music Program, studying solo piano performance as well as theory, history and literature of music. She offers Royal Conservatory of Music piano instruction and examination preparation. Manon can help you find the piano course program suited to your needs and goals. | ||

Beginning on guitar at the age of 12, Gerry Murphy has continually pursued the development of his musical knowledge. Studying primarily Classical music within the Brock University music program, he holds a Bachelor of Arts Honors Music degree. Gerry has participated and performed with many musical groups within the region including the Brock Wind Ensemble, Brock Jazz Ensemble, Niagara Youth Orchestra as well as the Music Ed Plus Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Zoltan Kalman. With open minded influences that span Beethoven to Zappa…. Miles Davis to David Gilmour, Gerry believes that regardless of your music preference, or whatever genre you may pursue, you are continually developing your musical capability. | ||

Pat Reilly has been playing drums for twenty years and teaching for the past fifteen. He studied Applied Music (jazz percussion) at MoHawk College between 2005-2009. He currently plays in both original and cover bands, he also enjoys to rap and sing while drumming. Pat’s main focus is to have as much fun with every lesson as possible, He tailors each lesson to the specific needs of the student. Since each student is different, its important to be able to identify their areas of weakness and provide clear advice on how to improve. It doesn’t matter if you’re a first time player, or someone with experience Pat will help you take you’re drumming to the next level! | ||

Rod Standish is a lifelong musician. He discovered his passion for music as a child, and has been playing guitar since he was 10 years old. He has played in numerous local bands as a guitarist, bass player, vocalist and occasional pianist. He has written and recorded hundreds of songs. He toured North America with the Roger Marin Band for 3 years. In 2007 he broke the Guinness Book World Record for longest guitar marathon. In 2009 he walked across Canada with his guitar. In 2012 he released a double vinyl record called The Walk, and played a 100 hour live stream event to promote it. He has been releasing recordings regularly ever since. He organized and performed a concert series that covered 38 different albums in their entirety. He helped to organize a live stream event during the pandemic called Jam In Perpetuity that featured many local artists. He is currently playing heavy metal guitar with Evil Monster, funk bass with Rodzilla, roots music on guitar with The Outlaws of Sherwood, and plays bass for local rock’n’roll band The Cocktails. | ||

Native to Welland, ON, Aaron Albano started piano lessons from the age of 7, participating in various competitions in recitals over the years in his youth. Aaron also established himself as a working organist at the age of 13, performing for church services, weddings, and funerals. A multi-talented musician, Aaron also has experience playing saxophone and drums in wind/jazz ensembles and rock bands, currently playing alto saxophone with the local band Giancarlo and the Scarfones. Aaron attended Brock University for his undergraduate degree, where he received a Bachelor of Music in piano performance, subsequently undertaking a Bachelor of Education degree at the University of Western Ontario. Besides being an active musician in the Niagara area, Aaron works as an occasional high school music teacher, directing various school concert bands and choir ensembles. |
